Wedding Photography Venue – The Landmark

Wedding Photography Venue – Venue of the Week – The Landmark London

This week Cameo Photography are thrilled to feature The Landmark London.

We have had the amazing opportunity to shoot numerous weddings and events here and we are constantly in awe of the beauty of this hotel.

The Landmark was originally opened in 1899 under the name ‘The Great Central Hotel.’

The inspiration for this hotel was built around the concept of an expansive court yard where horse and carriage could enter directly into the hotel with the assurance of comfort and privacy.

The courtyard was glazed, which was a unique concept at the time and allowed for the protection from London’s more questionable weather forecasts while still maintaining a  visually dramatic  and airy entrance.

Over the years the hotel has been home to some major historical moments. In 1908 the hotel hosted a ‘Welcome Back From Prison’ breakfast for many of the Suffragettes that were lobbying for the women’s right to vote. In 1939 it was used by the M19 to debrief escaped soldiers in hopes of helping more Allied troops to do the same. In 1988 the hotel purchased by a Japanese pop star under the name Kentaro Abe and went through some new restorations and took the name of ‘The Landmark’ in 1995.

The Landmark also joined the list for Leading Hotels of the World in 2008.

With a grand piano in the Garden Terrace, The Landmark takes pride in their musical offerings. They have an afternoon tea harpist, a champagne & cellist duo during your champagne brunch, an annual opera to accompany a four-course gourmet meal and the Landmark choir which consists of Landmark employees from different departments that surprise guests throughout the year.

The Landmark makes for a great Wedding Photography Venue because of their wonderful variety of rooms. If you have more than 100 guests attending your wedding you will receive a complimentary night at the hotel as well. The Grand Ballroom has the capacity of 500 guests for lunch/dinner and 750 guests for a cocktail reception while The Ballroom benefits from 500 guest capacity for a cocktail reception and approx. 400 guests for lunch/dinner while also having high ceilings and natural lighting (which makes for beautiful photos!!)

Finally, as if the beauty of this hotel isn’t enough, the team at The Landmark has always been incredibly helpful, kind, and thoughtful. Cameo Photography look forward to any opportunity to work with them!
